Load pin or measuring pins suitable for numerous applications
Dexman is one of the most experienced companies in the field of load pins / measuring axes for cranes and roller bridges. Thanks to our large network, we currently have one of the largest and most complete programs on the market. For example, we supply force transducers and "electronic" load pins / measuring axes, displays, but also terminal boxes. The load pin / measuring pins work on the basis of strain gauges and on the measuring principle of shear force. These measuring axes are suitable for numerous applications such as mobile weighing, on or in all kinds of transport systems, hoists, cranes, winches and hoists.
Loadpin principle
A load cell, also called a pressure cell, is an electronic sensor (a transducer) that is used to convert a force (usually a weight) into an electrical signal. The conversion is indirect and occurs in two phases. A metal element is deformed slightly by a mechanical construction (Hooke's law). This element must be slightly weaker than the construction in which it is incorporated. The deformation (strain) of the element is measured with a deformation sensor, which converts this strain into an electrical signal. The deformation sensor in a load cell can consist of four strain gauges, placed in a Wheatstone bridge. Two of the strain gauges are placed on the stretching side and the other two on the other side, which is compressed (compressed). By placing one strain gauge on each side in the stretching or compressing direction, and the other perpendicular to it, temperature influences can be compensated. After all, the strain gauges that are perpendicular to the direction of strain are not stretched by the deflection of the element, but by any thermal expansion. The latter is isotropic (direction-independent), so that any resulting strain is automatically compensated. This arrangement in the Wheatstone bridge provides optimum sensitivity. In addition, there are also load cells with one or two strain gauges. The output signal of the strain gauges is in the order of a few millivolts and must be amplified by a measuring amplifier before it can be used. The output signal of the measuring amplifier, usually a standardised analogue 4-20 mA signal, can be processed further. For weighing, it can be converted into a readable force value, if necessary via a linearisation algorithm. In control systems, it can be used in the control loop.
Custom made load pin
By customizing the load pin/measuring shaft, they always fit and the current construction does not need to be adjusted. This makes it easy to provide such installations with an overload protection and/or a force measuring or weighing system. The protection class varies from IP66 to IP68. The measuring pins have a temperature range of -20 to +60 °C compensated. This is sufficient for most applications. The measuring ranges go from 0,5 to 1.000 tons.
